Capitol, Holocaust, and Archives

Today we went to the Capitol building where we watched  the congress vote. Then we went to the Museum of American History were we looked at American stories and First Lady dresses. After that we went to the Holocaust Museum were we had to go through 4 floors seeing how it started to how it ended. We also met 2 Holocaust survivors. After than we went to the National Archives and saw the Declaration and Constitution. -Tessa Lewis-

The Holocaust Museum

Today in the Holocaust Museum the pictures of the Jews were really sad and graphic. Seeing this makes us realize how bad it was back then. Seeing how they had it then made us realize how good we actually have it.  Seeing what they wore in the camps was sad. Seeing all the shoes and hair, then finding out that it was only a small fraction of them, made us realize how many people were affected. -Carissa&&Lori

As you read a name -you see a face

You look at the wall of names and as you read a name, you see a face...your face. this is symbolic as you read the names of the fallen you see the faces of the living. We must remember the fallen while we are still here because someday we might become a just another name on the wall...The Holocaust Museum was a powerful experience. You walk in and see the faces of all who died. You see pictures of the weak and dying. You are able to see the shoes of some of those who were killed. And a picture of some of the hair.... It was a very moving Museum and i would hope to see it again sometime.

How Lucky We Are

Today we went to the Holocaust Museum.  We saw lots of movie bits and lots of writing pieces and pictures.  the most interesting thing for me was the room of pictures.  The walls were extremely tall and they were covered with pictures.  My favorite thing was probably the pictures that kids drew during the holocaust. Some drew what they were experiencing and others just drew for fun.  Seeing this museum has made me even more sad than when we studied it at school.  It has made me realize how lucky we are now.  Kayla Tennefoss

Went By Too Fast

Today we went to the Holocaust Museum we got to read about everything. there so much to learn about it even more then what we have been told. its amazing. They showed films of things that happen during the  holocaust. They had so many crazy things that I couldn't imagine having had seen it all. It was my favorite thing to go to. but this whole trip has ben a blast and went by too fast! - Harlie Whitworth

And So Ends the Trip

We went to the Holocaust Museum and saw some very sad things. We just finished "shopping". We have chosen a very scenic sequence of places to observe. We have just finished at the National Archives building. It was quite interesting, except for the crowded areas. They were dreadful. And so ends the story of the DC trip for the eighth grade class of 2016. Yet, next years the class will remember  their trip to DC.  - Isaiah Menuez.

Bill of Rights in Dim Light

We went to Holocaust Museum and learnt a lot. seen a lot of sad things like how the nazis would cut up the jews and also experiment on them.We went to the National Archive and seen a lot of important documents. My favorite was the Bill of Rights. I liked everything though. I thought it was really cool that the lights had to be dimmed down to keep the documents in good condition. - Kane Drouhard
